What You Need To Know About The Upper Deck Rookie Autograph Bonus Card Program

Upper Deck is offering a really cool initiative featuring their 2021-22 Credentials and/or 2021-2022 Stature products.

It’s the kind of old school mail it in and receive a reward initiative that sports card companies should bring back more often.

And the really cool thing here? You can receive a numbered Cole Caufield auto card. But what do you need to collect and redeem, and how do you send in those cards once you have them?

Don’t worry; we have all the details you need for this initiative in our overview of the Rookie Autograph Bonus Card Program.

What is the Rookie Autograph Bonus Card Program?

According to the Upper Deck website:

“Upper Deck is offering hobby collectors the following two bonus card programs beginning on August 15, 2023, through August 14, 2024 (“Bonus Card Period”) to receive a Cole Caufield autograph rookie card (collectively the “Bonus Cards”)

  1. 2021-22 Credentials (“Credentials Bonus Card”)
  2. 2021-22 Stature (“Stature Bonus Card”)

Collectors who redeem select cards, as noted below, from one or both of the 2021-22 Credentials and 2021-2022 Stature products will receive one (1) randomly selected Credentials Bonus Card and/or Stature Bonus Card.

What can you receive through the Rookie Autograph Bonus Card Program?

There are two tracks you can follow to gain bonus cards. The first requires that you collect the first 22 cards in the 2021-22 Upper Deck Credentials Hockey product.

Meanwhile, the second track can be pursued if you get one of three specific cards in the 2021-22 Upper Deck Stature release.

Bonus Card Program No. 1: 2021-22 Credentials

In the first program, you must collect all the first 22 cards of the Base Set. These numbered 1-22 are each serially-#’d to 149. You will receive a Credentials Bonus Card if you do so and redeem the cards above. That will be any of the following:

  • Debut Ticket Access Autographs (#’d to 99)
  • Debut Ticket Access Autographs – Red Parallel (#’d to 25)
  • Debut Ticket Access Autographs – Blue Parallel (#’d to 15)
  • Debut Ticket Access Autographs – Purple Parallel (#’d to 10)
  • Debut Ticket Access Autographs – Black Parallel (#’d to 1-of-1)

Bonus Card Program No. 2: 2021-22 Stature

The second program is far easier to qualify for. You need to get your hands on one Nick Suzuki card (Card #2), as long as it is from one of the following sets:

  • Base Set Photo Variant (#’d to 99)
  • Base Set Photo Variant – Green Parallel (#’d to 66)
  • Base Set Photo Variant – Red Parallel (#’d to 33)

…will receive one (1) Stature Bonus Card:

  • Base Set Rookies – Green Auto Parallel (#’d to 50)
  • Base Set Rookies – Red Auto Parallel (#’d to 35)
  • Base Set Rookies – Blue Auto Parallel (#’d to 10)
  • Base Set Rookies – Black Auto Parallel (#’d 1-of-1)
  • Base Set Rookies Photo Variant – Auto Parallel (#’d to 49)

How do you redeem cards for the The Rookie Autograph Bonus Card Program?

The process for redeeming is pretty simple. Once you have collected the cards for one or both tracks mentioned here, mail them to the Upper Deck company. Use the following address:

The Upper Deck Company

Attn: Cole Caufield Bonus Card Program

5830 El Camino Real

Carlsbad, CA 92008

The company requires that you also fill in a submission form, which we have included here. Make sure to fill out the details correctly. You have plenty of time because the submission period runs from  August 15, 2023, through August 14, 2024. So an entire year.

But I wouldn’t wait, because you will probably forget. Also, supplies may not last. And considering how popular Cole Caufield is among hockey collectors, they may not last very long.

Who is Cole Caufield?

What makes this initiative remarkable is what you receive in return for the cards. Cole Caufield is easily the most valuable and sought-after recent hockey rookie.

And since his debut in the NHL, his 5-on-5 goals/60 (1.26) have been among the top ten in the NHL. That means Caulfield has immediately landed as a premier scorer. He recently signed an eight-year deal worth $62.8 million with the Montreal Canadiens.

Caufield’s cards have easily been the most popular among young hockey players. But more than that, he has often featured among the top ten most-submitted athletes in 2023. And his cards have been going for some strong values, especially by the standards of hockey players. Here are some examples:

2021-22 OPC Platinum Cole Caufield Rookie Auto Golden Treasures #R-CC Cole Caufield 1/1 $12,711
2021-22 SP Authentic Cole Caufield Autograph Future Black Rookie #101$5,100
2021-22 Upper Deck Cole Caufield Ice Exquisite Collection Rookie Auto 2003-04  $3,071

Hockey has been producing a steady supply of excellent prospects and rookies in recent years, but Cole Caufield has quickly emerged as the cream of the crop. Therefore the opportunity Upper Deck is offering collectors is an exciting one.

Final word on the Rookie Autograph Bonus Card Program

We love the Upper Deck Rookie Autograph Bonus Card Program. It gives you an exciting opportunity to get a numbered auto card featuring the number one rookie in the game.

Of course, it’s also designed to generate interest in two products that collectors have bypassed: the 2021-22 Credentials and 2021-2022 Stature releases.

But we are not complaining. Just make sure to mail in your cards (and don’t forget to fill in the forms!) before they run out of cool Cole Caufield auto cards.
