The 2020-21 Panini Chronicles Basketball was initially scheduled for release on November 17 and was one of the most anticipated releases of the month. It was, however, delayed until November 24, 2021.
Panini’s Chronicle was built with a singular goal, offering collectors a selection of cards across various brands/series. Therefore, the series delivers multiple Panini brands in one. It’s made for people who love the variety! And also rookie cards.
Collectors consider Chronicles a testing ground to gauge the popularity of potential lines. Whether that’s true or not, the inherent variability of the release carries a distinct appeal, and it has become a favorite brand for some collectors.

Chronicle promised collectors two things – Variety and lots of rookie cards. They’ve delivered on both fronts. Chronicles offers a home for several Panini lines without full releases and serves collectors diverse styles in every box. People starting their collection find Chronicles helpful as it gives them a taste of different brands at a lower cost.
Asides from this variety, Chronicles focuses on Rookie cards, and everyone knows those are highly sought after in the hobby. It’s a fun box that offers so many rookies from diverse brands. It’s easy to see why this is a popular line. There are also several hits such as Gala, Vanguard, and Titanium and 2 autographs in every hobby box.
Some collectors fear that the overabundance of rookies in Chronicles will lower the value of the cards in the long run. Especially cards of underperforming players. However, rookies will always be desirable cards.
