Premier League Prizm has been the leading release for the top English league since its inaugural release in the 2018-19 season. However, now it has competition from other Premier League releases. Earlier this year, Panini released an inaugural Score product for the league. Later this year, they are also planning a Mosaic release. So, does 2021-22 Panini Prizm Premier League Soccer have what it takes to maintain its popularity and position? Let’s find out with our 2021-22 Panini Prizm Premier League review.
History Of Panini Prizm Premier League
The English Premier League is the most widely watched soccer league globally. How big is that league? It attracts over 600 million viewers a year. Its closest competitor, La Liga in Spain, has less than 100 million annual viewers.
No matter where you go in the world, you will find passionate Liverpool and Arsenal fans cheering their teams in bars. The Premier League is simply one of the most recognizable brands in world sports.
In recent years, it has also had the highest quality. For example, both teams in the UEFA Champions League final last year were English (Chelsea and Manchester City), which was no coincidence.
As the soccer card market grows, there is massive scope for growth in Premier League cards. It is no exaggeration to say that it is one of the most important feathers remaining in the Panini cap after losing the rights to NBA basketball and NFL football. Therefore, it is not surprising that Panini has begun to release more Premier League products this year.
Release Date
The hobby box was released on March 9, 2022. The First Off The Line box came out a day earlier. If you are looking for the Hybrid box, you will need to wait for April.

There are several vibrant and exciting inserts in the 2021-22 Panini Prizm Premier League checklist. Many of them can only be found in hobby packs.
One of them, called Brilliance, features some of the best names in the Premier League. Meanwhile, Emergent inserts feature young talent that is more likely to enter the first category in the future.
Apart from this, two other beautiful inserts are known as Fireworks and Instant Impact. In previous editions, they were highly popular among card collectors. Moreover, there are some rare inserts, such as the hobby-only Color Blast, which is also a fan favorite and a very scarce hit. Another insert, the Stadium and Team Logos set, features all 20 clubs and their home grounds.
Autographs
The autograph list is quite spectacular, including major current stars and all-time greats. Which all-time greats? How about Gary Lineker, Alan Shearer, and Jurgen Klinsmann? The current stars include everyone from Jack Grealish to Harry Kane.
Soccer card collectors who love autographs will be delighted to learn that the set has several autographed cards from some of the best players in the league. In addition, you can explore different variants of autographs, including Signatures, Club Legends Signatures, Dual Autographs, and Flashback Autographs. These sets also include short-printed Dual Autographs, as well as hobby-exclusive parallel versions:
2021-22 Panini Prizm Premier League Review Of Value
We know that Premier League Prizm is a popular product. But how well does it maintain the value? First, let’s compare singles to wax.
Singles
There is one main question to ask when ripping. Will you recoup the value of the box? Are the strongest cards genuinely worthwhile? Only one way to find out. Here are some high-performing cards. All cards are PSA 10:
These are the best cards you can get from the series. And at PSA 10 prices to boot. Since none go past $5,000, it is clear that the ceiling on this product is not all that high.
Wax
The buy-in price at over $400 is high. Especially, when you take the cost of singles into account. So, how does the wax hold up?
It is always a bad sign when the previous years’ hobby box sells for less than the opening list price. Meanwhile, the cost of all 2019-2020 products is high due to the more limited distribution.
However, there is reason for optimism. The market for soccer cards has been steadily increasing. New fans in North America getting into soccer almost invariably tune into the Premier League. Therefore, there is a good chance that the market for the boxes will improve significantly. Holding one or two of these babies will probably pay off.
Bottomline Of The 2021-22 Panini Prizm Premier League Review
The Panini Prizm Premier League Soccer card set is one of the more attractive soccer collections. But its value is not high enough to justify the release price. Therefore, buy-in if you are a Premier League collector. After all, the other releases from the league have yet to have proven lasting power. In addition, if you are willing to be patient and wait, these cards may have more of an upside than most. After all, there are fewer rival brands. Furthermore, the Premier League is enjoying growing popularity. Nonetheless, if you want a quick return on investment, there are better prospects elsewhere.
