The 2024/25 Panini Select Serie A Soccer brings Select and all its goodness to the Italian League for another year. As expected from a Select set, the 2024/25 Panini Select Serie A Soccer offers colorful chrome cards with varying rarity levels.
Serie A has steadily been amongst the top leagues in the world thanks to its mix of legendary clubs, elite talent, and nail-biting competition. With players like Martínez, Lookman, Kean, and Retegui leading the charge, this season has already delivered several unforgettable moments.
This leaves lots of material for Panini to use to deliver another top-notch Serie A set. The 2024/25 Panini Select Serie A Soccer is expected to feature premium holofoil finishes, multiple parallel variations, and low-numbered inserts.
This article shall cover everything you need to know about this release. From its release date to its checklist and key rookies, how well is it expected to perform on the market?
Panini’s Select brand traces its roots to the early 1990s under Pinnacle. However, it was discontinued for several years before being revived in 2013.
The 2013 Panini Select Football set marked the revival of the Select brand under Panini, though it initially focused on American football (NFL) and then Basketball. These early Panini releases quickly gained traction with collectors.
By 2019, Panini had licence rights to international football competitions such as the FIFA World Cup and UEFA Nations League, as well as several domestic leagues such as the Premier League, Spanish La Liga, and Italian Serie A.
However, while Panini held the rights to these leagues, a standalone Serie A set took several years to happen. Panini first released the 2019-20 Panini Prizm Premier League Soccer.
While soccer fans did have Panini Series A cards in the 2019/20 season, it was from the 2019-20 Panini Chronicles Soccer set. This three-leagued set was a mash-up of all the top leagues. Its lineup included the top players from the English Premier League, Spanish La Liga and Italian Serie A.
In the 2020/21 season, Panini launched its first standalone set dedicated exclusively to Serie A, Italy’s top-flight soccer league: the 2020/21 Panini Mosaic Serie A Soccer.
The set highlights stars from all 20 Serie A clubs, with 10 players per team. The 2020/21 Mosaic set was followed up with the 2021-22 Panini Mosaic Serie A Soccer release.
The first Panini Select Serie A set came in the 2022/23 season. This groundbreaking release brought the Select brand’s signature high-end design to Serie A. It introduced Panini Select’s signature tiered structure featuring all the traditional levels: Concourse, Premier Level, Field Level, etc.
Since then, Panini has followed up with yearly Select Series A releases, including the 2023/24 Panini Select Serie A Soccer.
Since its debut, Panini Select Serie A has established itself as the most attractive soccer release for Serie A collectors. Panini has delivered stunning designs, high-end parallels, and sought-after autographs year after year.
The 2024/2025 Panini Select Serie A Soccer will be released on May 9, 2025.
Aside from the occasional release, Panini has always had hobby boxes for their Panini Select Serie A sets. It’s looking like 2024/2025 Panini Select Serie A Soccer would stick to this hobby-only format as we don’t have any information for other formats until now.
However, we will look for information on other formats and update this article when/if Panini releases an update.
Here are the stats for the only release format.
Select Serie A has traditionally been Panini’s rarest Select soccer product, with significantly lower print runs than Select Premier League or La Liga releases.
While we do not have the numbers for this set yet, the 2024/25 Panini Select Serie A Soccer will likely be the shortest print of the entire Panini Select Soccer offering. This makes the 2024/25 Panini Select Serie A Soccer the most exclusive and investment-worthy soccer product for the year.
One of the biggest strengths of the 2024/25 Panini Select Serie A Soccer is Serie A’s elite player selection this year. While Ronaldo might have left the several years back, Serie A is home to some of the world’s most exciting stars.
Several top stars, such as Martínez, Lukaku, Kvaratskhelia, Lookman, Kean, and Retegui, are expected to be featured in the set.
What makes this year’s Select Serie A set even more appealing is that Serie A has had a great representation on club football’s biggest stage, the Champions League.
Inter Milan is already one leg into the semi-finals after beating Bayern Munich at home. This is great as a good UCL showing increases their global profile and makes their cards even more desirable for collectors.
One of the biggest strengths of Panini Select Serie A compared to other leagues is the wide distribution of top clubs, each with massive, passionate fanbases.
While leagues like La Liga are often dominated by Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Atlético Madrid, Serie A has multiple top clubs with global followings, making its trading cards more desirable across different markets. Serie A has Inter, Juventus, AC Milan, Roma, Napoli, Lazio, Atalanta, and Fiorentina, all clubs with millions of fans worldwide.
Even a club like Bologna is pushing for UCL qualification and getting noticed by football fans worldwide. More big clubs equate to stronger card demand.
One of the biggest downsides of the 2024/25 Panini Select Serie A Soccer is its premium price tag, which puts it out of reach for many casual collectors.
While the product offers stunning designs, rare parallels, and strong player selection, its high entry cost is a significant barrier. Hobby boxes cost over $400, making it the priciest Select soccer release, even more than Premier League or La Liga editions.
While it has a low print run, the hit consistency doesn’t always justify this high cost. Budget collectors are priced out, bringing us to the second con of this product.
Unlike most sets with other format options such as retail, blaster, etc, Select Serie A is mostly hobby-only, and the 2024/25 Panini Select Serie A Soccer is looking to be another Serie A hobby-only release. Collectors are forced to spend $400+ at once with no budget-friendly options available.
The short prints and premium quality may justify this high price for high-end collectors and Serie A superfans. However, the high price puts it out of reach for the average collector.
Lastly, unlike premium products like National Treasures or Flawless, Select Serie A still uses sticker autos for most signatures. While sticker autos have their benefits, especially when it comes to grading, on-card autos are far more desirable as sticker autos just feel cheap.
Panini hasn’t released the 2024/25 Panini Select Serie A Soccer checklist, so we do not know this year’s rookies lineup.
However, several youths debuted this season and are having a stand-out season. So we expect a few top rookie cards that’ll have great value as they improve.
The 2024/25 Panini Select Serie A Soccer checklist features all 20 teams of Italy’s top division. It perfectly blends Italy’s top stars, mixing legends of the game with promising young talent.
From the stars of Inter, Juventus, AC Milan, Roma, Napoli, Lazio, Atalanta, Fiorentina, and many more.
The 2024/2025 Panini Select Serie A Soccer base set has 250 cards split into three tiers.
Like the 2024/25 Panini Select La Liga Soccer, all three tiers have different rainbow parallels and rarities. The rarest option is the Base Field Level series, which includes one-of-one Black parallels.
Each Hobby box has 14 parallels, with five being serial-numbered. New choices include Bronze Checker (/45) and Honeycomb, which is noted as “elusive.”
2024/25 Panini Select Serie A Soccer Insert
The 2024/2025 Select Serie A Soccer delivers seven inserts per Hobby box, split into two categories for collectors to chase:
Each of these limited lines arrives as a case hit.
Each hobby box of 2024/2025 Panini Select Serie A Soccer contains an average of three autograph and/or memorabilia cards.
There are several autographed subsets, these include;
For signers, the 2024/25 Panini Select Serie A checklist isn’t out yet, so we do not know who will be on this year’s list of signatures.
However, we’re sure of Mattia Zaccagni and Rafael Leão with their signed cards being used to promote the set. Last year’s names included Gabriel Batistuta, Van Basten, Christain Pulisic, Lukas Podolski, and Gianluigi Buffon.
And the set before that included names such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Zinedine Zidane, Kaka, and Cafu. Hopefully, we will see a healthy number of these previous legends back on the autograph cards this year, especially Cristiano Ronaldo, whose signature always commands a premium.
Let’s take a look at how well the 2024/2025 Panini Select Serie A Soccer will do on the market. To do this, we shall look at how well wax and top singles from the last two Panini Select Serie A Soccer releases are performing.
2022/23 Panini Select Serie A Soccer hobby box | $324.95 |
2023/24 Panini Select Serie A Soccer hobby box | $274.95 |
Clearly, Panini Select Serie A wax is not a sound investment option. Hobby boxes of the last two releases sell for below their retail prices.
2022-23 Panini Select Serie A Lautaro Martinez Patch True Black Prizm 1/1 | $520 |
2022-23 Panini Select Serie A – Pitchside Signatures Cristiano Ronaldo #PS-22 (AU) | $830 |
2022-23 Panini Select Serie A – Stained Glass Kaka #29 | $555.99 |
Panini Select 2023-24 Dean Huijsen RC 3/10 Shirt Number In AS Roma + Refractor | $700 |
2023-24 Panini Select Christian Pulisic 12/15 White Field Level PSA 10 | $400 |
There’s value to be found in low-numbered parallels of legends and rookies. However, does the price of these top singles justify its $400 hobby box price?
The decision is up to each collector. Even though no card crossed the $1,000 mark from the last two sets, and very few crossed $500. There are several dozen cards valued at $200 – $300.
Simply put, it’s easy to get the value of your box back if you get a few good hits and even make a profit if you have a great hit. However, you wouldn’t be making life-changing money on this product.
The 2024/25 Panini Select Serie A Soccer delivers gorgeous, premium-quality cards that showcase the Italian League. It has everything collectors love: vibrant design, tiered rarity levels, rare autographs, and dazzling parallels.
If you’re a Serie A collector with big pockets, the 2024/25 Panini Select Serie A Soccer is the year’s most visually striking Serie A release.
However, if you’re on a budget or looking to make a profit, its $400 price tag can be quite off-putting. That doesn’t mean it’s outrightly a bad investment. Its low population (compared to other leagues) and even distribution of great players across the various clubs help the general value of Select Serie A boxes.
If you love the Italian League and are ready for a fun rip, you can’t go wrong with the 2024/25 Panini Select Serie A Soccer.
