Many things are changing in our world and society, but there is one thing we can rely on: Black Friday offers some of the best deals on sports cards.
Many of us save money for this time of year when you can get fantastic card deals. Get yourself that hobby box you have been craving or a gift for a loved one.
They earned it by putting up with you all year. Just like we did last year, Cardlines is here with the best Black Friday Deals for 2024.
The timing for each deal is different. The actual date for Black Friday falls on November 29, 2024.
But buying things on the exact date while trampling innocent women and children at the mall is old school. Nowadays, we usually go online, and most of the deals are spread out over time, often for a week or so. I will point out when and where the deals apply when possible.
But look at the dates carefully. You wouldn’t want to miss a great deal. In other words, keep your freaking eye on the ball with the Black Friday Sports Card Deals Guide.
The big three sports card sales companies are Dave & Adams Card World, Blowout Cards, and Steel City Collectibles. They tend to compete for who has the best Black Friday Deals available. So, who offers the best stuff at the lowest price in 2024? Let’s dive in.
The holiday sales for Dave & Adams are already on the website and ready. The company warns, “Deals are minimal and are not reserved when placed into your cart. Deals may sell out before you checkout. Please checkout as soon as possible to ensure you get the deal.”
Indeed, many of the best offerings are already sold out. That is bad since you can’t get them, but it also indicates reasonable prices. The deals update daily, so I suggest you go in first thing in the morning and clean up.
The range of products on sale in every category is also quite impressive. Therefore, if you are looking for something specific at a sale price, you are more likely to find it here than elsewhere.
These folks are taking Black Friday very seriously. They have extended it throughout November, and the banner taking you to these sales is the first thing you see when you enter the site.
Like their rivals, the deals update daily. However, there are some differences between the Blowout Cards approach and, say, Dave & Adams. Blowout has fewer items on sale in every category, though the selection is still excellent. However, the prices are cut deeper.
So, if you are looking for an opportunistic good deal rather than a specific item, this is the place for you.
First, let’s credit Steel City for having the dumbest banner with a picture of a turkey and the caption, “Featured deals to gobble up!”
They also have more items on sale daily than any of their competitors. The sales also include some pretty inexpensive items, including many top-shelf stuff.
Therefore, if I went to just one of the big three websites for Black Friday, I would pick the Steel City Collectibles. But your best bet is to look through all three. You are VERY likely to find something you want at a great price.
Steel City has another nice bonus this year. For every dollar you spend at their store, they will donate to a charity. You can choose either the Wounded Warrior Project, which serves our veterans, or the UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, a world leader in treating children. Both are very worthy causes.
The big three are the first thing most of us think of when we buy sports cards on Black Friday on our mind. But they are no longer the most prominent actors in the hobby. Let’s see what the most notable companies are offering.
They need to find out if Walmart and Target have any specials on sports cards. That is particularly interesting, considering that Walmart has recently tried to court hobbyists.
It doesn’t get any bigger than apparel giants and owners of Topps, Fanatics. Fanatics has a far more traditional view of Black Friday than the big three.
They like to keep the most significant sales for the day itself. Therefore, the company promises, “Some of the lowest prices all year will be revealed on Black Friday, November 29, 2024.” However, as far as I can see, they mean sports apparel rather than cards. But we won’t know for sure until the sales are revealed. Either way, watch for the coupons Fanatics promises to drop on Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
This year Topps has launched a nice selection of holiday sales. They include:
The other massive player in the hobby is eBay, with a tremendous volume of sports card sales, the vault, and other initiatives geared toward sports card collectors.
However, while the e-commerce giant has planned some great Black Friday sales, none are for sports cards. What a disappointment!
Still, you can expect many sellers to lower their Black Friday and Cyber Monday prices to drive up sales and build a loyal customer base. So be on the lookout for those.
I wasn’t expecting much from PSA because I remember checking in the past and not seeing anything. But in 2024, the grading giant has significantly upped its game.
During the holiday season, you can expect sales on all levels of submissions. But act now. The offer expires on November 30th.
Here are the details:
Some items are not included in any of these special offers. They include Card grading specials, excluding Tallboys, Supersized Cards, T3 Cards, Jumbo Cards, Coins/Pins, Packs, Tickets, Jumbo Tickets, Funko Pop!, Crossovers, reviews, or dual service unless otherwise stated.
The folks at COMC always take Black Friday very seriously. Here is what to expect. For buyers:

As you can see, they have a lot going on for the holiday season.
The hobby is now working against your local card stores in many ways. They are being squeezed out by breakers, eBay, Fanatics Direct, and almost every trend.
If you want to protect your local card stores, instead of shopping at one of the big boys who do not need your help, consider looking into what your local store has planned for the holidays.
Here are some examples of what these stores do for Black Friday and this blessed shopping period.
This store promises a slew of special deals from November 29 to December 1, including a promotion for all hockey tins at $15 and any two at $25. That sounds like a good deal to me.
This awesome-looking store has several things going on for Black Friday. If you buy a loved one a $100 gift card, they will give you an extra $10—a total value of $110.
If you are a Magic: The Gathering fan or want to get started, they offer the Foundations Play Booster for $127.99 and Jumpstart Booster for $89.99.
You can also fill a sack with cards for just 10$! If you come in on Black Friday between 2 PM and 10 PM, the store will provide you with a brown paper bag. You can with ten cards from boxes they will provide for just 10$. The offerings will include Magic: The Gathering and Pokémon. Therefore, it’s a great way to complete your collection.
Ken’s is very excited to have doubled the size of their store. After that kind of renovation, they will need your business. And they are making it worth it. On Black Friday, the store is offering:
Rip Valley has some good value at their store on Black Friday. Spend $100 or more and get 10% off your purchase. Also, if you buy a Pokemon item, you can get another one of equal or lesser value for 50% off. There is going to be a great clearance rack available. Also, you can get $50 for a Suns jersey. Wait, you have to pay for those? I kid, I kid.
First, let’s give some credit to this store for its incredible name. I hate to say it, but there is little originality in sports card store names. This one is the best I’ve seen. And they match this fantastic name with some great sales. Look at the prices they have for Topps Chrome Basketball.
This local sports gem of a store will have one TCG and one sports product on sale every day until Black Friday. They promise some vast sales. For example, the day I wrote this, it was:
In addition, up until Black Friday through Cyber Monday, gift certificates will be on sale:
$50 GC for $45 and $100 GC for $90
Cyber Monday is the online response to Black Friday. It attempts to offer savings similar to those offered on Black Friday to internet-based purveyors. These same folks also wanted shoppers to keep some money for them and not spend everything at Walmart and Friday.
Most of the biggest purveyors of sports cards operate mainly online. Therefore, you would expect there to be a fantastic array of deals for Cyber Monday in the hobby. But that is not the case. Most deals do continue through Cyber Monday, especially from the bigger card stores like the big three. But they do not have anything separate for that day. It is just a continuation of the same deals. Even worse, in the cases of many card stores (especially of the local card store variety), the deals often stop after Black Friday is over.
We will update you if we see anything special for Cyber Monday. But don’t hold your breath.
In our Black Friday Sports Card Deals Guide, we have provided some of the coolest and best Black Friday opportunities the big boys in the hobby offer.
But you will find some of the best options at your local card store. Along with discounts and giveaways, many are holding community events. At the risk of sounding sappy, isn’t community what it’s all about?
Sure, buying and selling cards online is convenient, but we still need the human touch. So, check your local store and see what they do for Black Friday. From what I have seen, they are offering fantastic deals, and you won’t have to pay for delivery either. Of course, you can always order online once you get back.
