Daniels is already a fan favorite, and his rookie cards are expected to skyrocket in value if he continues on this trajectory.

Potential Downside: Daniels is super talented, but his slight frame and knack for scrambling make his health a constant concern.

But let’s face it: his rookie year hasn’t been what many collectors hoped for, and he’s not the most likable personality. That impacts value more than you’d think.

Potential Downside: Caleb’s personality doesn’t sit well with all collectors, and no matter how successful he is on the field, that can hurt value. Look at Joel Embiid or peak James Harden as examples.
Maye has been a steady presence for the Patriots despite his team’s tough campaign. His mechanics and accuracy have shown flashes of brilliance, reminding fans of a young Justin Herbert. Collectors are betting on his long-term potential as the Patriots rebuild around him.

Potential Downside: The roster, as currently constructed, is easily the worst of any of the first-round quarterbacks have to deal with. They’re a bottom-two team.
After being overlooked early in the draft process, Nix has proven to be a steal for the Broncos. His maturity and football IQ have allowed him to take command of Denver’s offense, earning multiple Rookie of the Week honors. Nix’s cards are gaining traction as his underdog story resonates with fans.

Potential Downside: Nix is already being seen as a game manager by many people in sports talk. Much of the conversation around him is about whether he’s winning games for the Broncos or just… helping not lose them.
Penix has seamlessly transitioned to the NFL and took over for Kirk Cousins near the tail end of his rookie season. His cannon of an arm and ability to read defenses make him an exciting prospect. If he can help Atlanta make a splash in the playoffs, he could leap from Nix for the fourth spot and maybe climb even higher.

Potential Downside: We don’t have much NFL tape on Penix at the time of writing (12/23/24) and he’s old for a rookie, but that’s not always a bad thing.
Bowers is a generational talent at tight end, combining elite athleticism with remarkable hands. He has quickly become a focal point of the Raiders’ offense, racking up yards after the catch.
His rookie cards are a must-have for collectors who value positional uniqueness, and he led the NFL in receptions for a good portion of his rookie season. Yeah, a rookie tight end leading the league. He’s that good.

Potential Downside: Bowers is a tight end, and it’s as simple as that. He might be the best rookie on this list overall, but tight ends are not the most collectible position.
It was a year of ups and downs for McCarthy. We won an NCAA championship at Michigan, shot up some draft boards, and was taken by the Vikings at #10 overall, but a season-ending injury in preseason let Sam Darnold step up and truly look like a top-10 quarterback while making the Vikings one of the scariest teams in football.
What’s next for JJ? Will he make his NFL debut on a new team next year?

Potential Downside: McCarthy’s cloudy future is why I slotted him at #7 on the list, but perhaps that also means it’s a good time to buy value-wise.
Nabers has been the bright spot of the New York Giants’ season. They’re the worst team in the league, and he’s about the only asset that fans should point to and say, “Let’s hope he’s on the roster in five years.”
As Saquon Barkley puts up huge numbers for the Eagles, Nabers is giving the Giants fans at least a glimmer of hope.

Potential Downside: His quarterback situation has been awful this year and it’s rocky at best for next season. The Giants will surely take a QB, but it’s not the best QB draft class. If they pick wrong, Nabers could have another few years wasting his talents.
Thomas quickly became one of Trevor Lawrence’s favorite targets. His ability to stretch the field and make big plays has added a new dimension to Jacksonville’s offense.
His rookie cards are steadily rising in value despite the Jaguars’ season continuing to spiral (we see you, Mac Jones).

Potential Downside: Jacksonville is not a good franchise, period. They’re one of the worst coached, too.
As the son of Hall of Famer Marvin Harrison, he had big shoes to fill, and his rookie season has been largely disappointing. He was an early pick but just doesn’t look… I don’t know, competitive.
Harrison is the opposite of what you think of when you hear “he’s got that dog in him.” He’s talented, but let’s hope for a Jackson Smith-Njigba level year 2 turnaround.

Potential Downside: His spot on this list is based more on name and potential than anything he’s put on tape this year.
Verse has been a terror off the edge, leading all rookies in sacks. His relentless motor and knack for making game-changing plays have made him one of the most exciting defensive rookies in recent memory.
Defensive players often face an uphill battle in the card market, but Verse’s dominance is changing that narrative.
Potential Downside: Defensive players never demand nearly as much money as they should. He’s a monster, though.
The 2024 draft class has a lot of talent, even reaching beyond these eleven athletes. Rome Odunze, AD Mitchell and several other rookies have breakout potential for next year and didn’t make the debut top 10.
These are just our rankings though, and collecting is about you. Find the athletes you believe in, grab their cards, and hold on for an exciting career.
