April is a big month in sports. Baseball gets underway. Hockey and Basketball start to heat up as the playoffs approach. And if you squint hard enough, you can almost see the NFL pre-season in the distance.

As spring really starts to warm up, so does the auction action across the major auction houses. Let’s take a swing around the horn and see what is available for our bidding enjoyment this month.

With 3,600 items, this one has a bit of everything, but skews towards baseball and modern.

Items of Note

There’s lots to like here, with such a large number of lots. There’s a 2011 Topps Update Trout in BGS 10. A /5 2022 Bowman Chrome Sapphire Red Julio Rodriguez in PSA 10.  Not one, but two BGS 10 Ohtani rookie cards. There are high end items of Damian Lillard, Tiger Woods, LeBron James, and Kevin Garnett, just to name a few.

There’s even close to 300 comic books in the auction, including an Amazing Spider Man #1. Or perhaps you enjoy toys or tickets, they have that too.

This auction is heavy on baseball and heavy on vintage. There’s a little bit of everything, though, including a lot of lower-priced lots, so it’s worth checking out.

Items of Note

There’s a lot of great post-war graded vintage in this auction. That includes a PSA 4.5 1956 Mickey Mantle, a PSA 3 1955 Topps Sandy Koufax, and a PSA 3.5 1953 Topps Satchel Paige. Or maybe you’re looking for an autographed Nolan Ryan rookie card.

Basketball fans, there are PSA 8 rookie cards of Jerry West and Julius Erving. There’s early post-war graded football. There’s also a lot of graded junk wax era cards that are likely to go for very affordable prices.

A few highlights of this auction include a PSA 4 1955 Bowman Mickey Mantle and a PSA 3 Lew Alcindor (better known as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar) rookie card.

If you’re a fan of Yankees autographed items, check out four ball lot of signed Mickey Mantle baseballs. And the 2000 New York Yankees Team Signed Jersey. Or a Derek Jeter signed All-Star Game Jersey. There’s also a signed Joe DiMaggio baseball (what a pretty signature). And that’s just a taste of the great Yankees items in this auction.

There’s one of those crazy 1980’s Houston Astros Jerseys, signed by Nolan Ryan. TV fans will enjoy the wax boxes of 1975 Topps Good Times, 1978 O-Pee-Chee Mork and Mindy, and 1988 Topps Alf. Heritage also has Sunday auctions ending on April 16th and 23rd.

Items included in this auction include a 1968 Topps compete set with several graded cards. There’s not one, but two PSA 6 1960 Topps Mickey Mantle cards. There are graded rookie cards of Tom Seaver, Bill Russell, Dick Allen, and many more.

There are lots of autographed items, from Roger Maris to Nolan Ryan, to Patrick Ewing, to Lawrence Taylor.
