Topps Heritage is a retro-themed set. It’s so retro, that it thinks it’s still 2024. That’s right, we’re still seeing 2024 cards released from Topps over a month after the release of 2025 Topps Series 1.
But what will collectors find in 2024 Topps Heritage High Number? What is the release date and format? What are the hits? And are these retro-themed cards worth pretending it’s still 2024 for?

The base set of 2024 Topps Heritage High Number consists of 225 cards. The checklist, which updates the (much) earlier 2024 Topps Heritage release, includes MLB veterans who changed teams or were not included in the earlier series.
The checklist also includes rookie cards of players who debuted early in the 2024 season. The cards are numbered to continue the earlier series, so cards 501 to 725 are included.
Like the earlier edition, the 2024 Topps Heritage High Number takes its design from the iconic vintage 1975 Topps set. The colorful borders are one of the most recognizable Topps designs ever. Love or hate them, there’s no denying they were of their time.

A variety of different chases exist in 2024 Topps Heritage High Number, including parallels, variations, and more.

The big hits in the product are autographs and relics, which fall one per box. While the autographs represent the most desirable cards, there are some popular relic sets as well.
Real One Autographs are a popular signature series that returns with a mix of current players and stars from the 1975 season, signed on-card with blue ink.
Real One Special Edition Autographs are hand-numbered out of 75 copies each and are signed in red ink.
Real One Reversed Autographs offer an alternate 1975 Topps design and limited print runs.
Clubhouse Collection Relics offer relics from current big leaguers and exciting rookies.
Clubhouse Collection Autographs bring the ink to the Clubhouse Collection relics.
Clubhouse Collection Dual, Triple, and Quad Relics offer relics from multiple players per card. Each card is hand-numbered and features players past and present.
Flashback Autographed Relics flash us back to 1975 for autos and relics from some of the biggest stars of the era.
1975 Baseball & Celebrity Cut Signatures brings us 1/1 cut signatures from the players and celebrities that made 1975 what it was.
2024 Topps Heritage High Number is a retro-themed update set that’s a bit late on the scene. But are they a good candidate to buy-and-hold unopened?
Let’s look at recent comp prices for hobby boxes from the last few years to see what they can suggest about the potential for this release.
Shop for 2024 Topps Heritage High Number boxes on eBay
Year | Recent Hobby Box Comp Price |
---|---|
2024 | $125-135 |
2023 | $50-55 |
2022 | $70-90 |
2021 | $45-55 |
With a buy-in price at least double the previous year, and recent boxes selling for relatively low prices, these don’t feel like a good candidate to buy and hold unopened. Hobby boxes from prior years seem to be plentiful and affordable, which could make for fun low-priced breaks if the mood hits you.
What about in terms of singles? What can a look at recent singles sales from 2023 Topps Heritage High Number tell us about the potential for 2024?
The high water mark was an Anthony Volpe Real One Auto Red Ink /74 in PSA 9, which sold for around $450. A JJ BLEDAY Gold Chrome Refractor SSP /5 sold for $400. Blue Autographs of Bryce Harper sold for $275, $300 and $350 at different times. A Trea Turner Gold Chrome Refractor /5 sold for $300.
Prices go down from there. The high end isn’t very high, but with boxes being fairly low-cost, this isn’t out of line with what expectations should be for a product of this type.
Every product has pros and cons when deciding whether to purchase or break them. What are some of the pros and cons of 2024 Topps Heritage High Number?

Cons
2024 Topps Heritage High Number is a bit late to the game, as a 2024 product coming as the 2025 season gets underway. But it offers a low-cost break that is chocked full of rookies with interesting autographs, relics, inserts, and other variations.
While the hits are unlikely to be life changing, this has the making of a fun low-cost break with some fun included to help you party like it’s 2024 (and 1975).
