Warner Bros. and Cartamundi Group, the worldwide playing card leaders, announced that they’d be launching the DC Hybrid Trading cards by Hro in March 2022.
The brainchild of this is the very first DC-based hybrid NFT trading cards. The cards which hit shelves last month give collectors a unique experience by combining the physical world with the digital world.
How does it work? Collectors still own a physical version of their trading cards. However, these purchases are accompanied by an NFT companion. The format seamlessly incorporates blockchain technology and physical cards for a distinct trading card set.
The recent NFT wave brings innovation to collectibles, and Cartamundi combines this with collectors’ enthusiasm for collecting cards. You can do this via the Hro app for peak convenience. Users do not just have a platform to purchase packs; they are presented with a whole new way to engage with the characters they collect and interact with fellow collectors.
The app lets fans own physical cards and an NFT twin version merging blockchain technology and physical cards for the first time.
Once you sign up on the Hro platform, you’re given access to a global marketplace where you can buy, sell and trade your cards to build your collection. The Hro platform offers fans an immersive experience and a thriving community with 360 degrees of fan engagement. Users can compete in challenges, explore DC content, build their collections and unlock unique experiences.

There are two different types of packs available for collectors looking to buy packs of the DC Hybrid Trading cards by Hro. First, you can get the physical or digital packs of DC’s officially licensed Hro Hybrid NFT trading cards.
Available for purchase from Hro online shop and the standard card retailers, the physical packs give you physical cards. You can unlock their digital NFT twin by scanning the unique QR code located at the back of the card.
Available for purchase only on the Hro platform, digital-only packs deliver only the NFT cards to collectors without a physical twin card. While there’s no physical twin to the digital-only packs, the cards can still be sold or traded.
Chapter 1 of DC’s Hybrid trading cards was released on the 10th of March 2022. Unfortunately, packs sold out on the official store quickly, and collectors looking to invest in this series have to consider other options.
We recommend searching the Marketplace on the Hro platform, where users can trade and sell cards and packs. However, people seem to be holding onto their packs, opting to sell single cards. They have also released these cards in retail format at Walmart.
Packs can also be found on several marketplaces such as eBay, and other platforms, although you should be prepared to pay more.

Collectors have experienced several issues with their packs. The most common problems are mismatched mint numbers, QR codes not scanning, and receiving a different digital image from the physical card.
However, the good news is that Hro has responded to these issues well. While the QR code scanning function within the app was disabled on 09th 04, 2022, this was to address and fix several misprint issues. The code scanning capabilities have been re-enabled after the problem was addressed.
If you did encounter a misprint, just report it by using this link to raise a ticket. The responses are prompt. Just ensure you use “Misprints” as your email subject. There’s also a very detailed Solution Guideline that clearly outlines all issues and their solutions.
With the Hro app, it’ll be pretty easy to find out your card’s price from the in-app Marketplace. Fees for single cards range from $1 (standard) up to $8,750 (legendary) per card, depending on the rarity. However, eBay is a far better source for its value on the open market.
