Who is Jac Caglianone?

Jeffrey “Jac” Caglianone is a corner outfielder and first baseman for the Kansas City Royals. Caglianone made his big league debut on June 3, 2025, after being the 6th overall pick in the 2024 MLB Draft.

He signed a $7.21 million signing bonus less than a year before breaking into the big leagues. He was the #10 prospect on the MLB Top 100 prospect list at mid-season. Just five days into his big league career, Caglianone put up a 4-hit game, a nice start to a promising career.

Jac Caglianone was a two-way player in college and still may experiment on the mound in the big leagues, although he didn’t pitch in his limited time in the minors. What he did do in the minor is rake. Across 79 minor league games (355 PA) he hit 292/.358/.517 line, good for a .875 OPS. He added 17 home runs, as well.

MLB.com lists Jac Caglianone’s scouting grades (20-80 scale) as:

Scouting grades: Hit: 50 | Power: 70 | Run: 40 | Arm: 60 | Field: 50 | Overall: 60 Power is Caglianone’s calling card, although he’s got a solid arm and is decent defensively despite below-average running speed. While any future return to the mound appears to be on hold for now, the future appears bright for the young slugger.

Jac Caglianone has his 1^st Bowman cards in 2024 Bowman products. There are options across several price points. The 2024 Bowman Draft paper version has been graded less than 600 times by PSA, with 2/3 of all graded copies in PSA 10 slabs. In a PSA 10, these sell for $60-90.

The 2024 Bowman Draft Chrome version has more total copies graded by PSA, but a lower percentage of PSA 10’s. In that grade, they sell for $160-200. A rarer Image Variation version, showing Caglianone on the mound, has been graded a scant 43 times and sells for around $400.

The esteemed 1^st Bowman autograph is the 2024 Bowman Draft Chrome Prospect Autographs card, which actually has the highest total PSA count on the list with over 700 graded copies.

Even with 60% of those in PSA 10 slabs, these sell for $1,000 to $1,200. This card also has a much rarer Image Variation, with the last few sales being for $1,000 and $2,000.

PSA hasn’t graded many of these, and Leaf produced a dizzying array of parallels and autograph versions. While these pre-professional cards tend to lag in value behind the 1^st Bowman cards, they do offer an interesting and fun option to add more early Caglianone cards to your collection.
