Sports Card Auctions

February is a big month on the sports calendar. The Super Bowl ends the NFL season, while spring training kicks off the MLB year. This year, the month starts with a bang, with two major auctions wrapping up on February 1st.

What will collectors find in these two sports card auctions? What are some of the key lots? Whether you’re a bidder or a dreamer, there’s much to like here!

Goldin 2025 January Elite Auction

Goldin Auctions brings us their January Elite Auction, which wraps up on February 1, 2025. This auction skews towards modern, with basketball being the most prolific sport, although all sports are well-represented.

The 2023-24 Panini Select Courtside Black Finite Prizm Victor Wembanyama 1/1 in PSA 10 will, too.

While the auction skews modern, there’s plenty of vintage to love, including 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle cards in PSA 4 and SGC 3.5. Other vintage gems include high-grade rookie cards of recently deceased icons Pete Rose and Rickey Henderson.

Heritage Auctions Winter Sports Card Catalog Auction

Heritage Auctions brings us their Winter Sports Card Catalog Auction, which wraps up on February 1, 2025. This is a huge auction, with close to 2,500 lots representing a mix of sports and eras.

Other vintage gems well worth a look include a 1953 Bowman Color Mickey Mantle in PSA 9, a 1909-11 E90-1 American Caramel Joe Jackson SGC 5, and a 1933 Goudey Babe Ruth #144 in PSA 8.

There’s a 1962 Topps 5th and 6th series wax box that’d be a blast to open. There’s also plenty of unopened materials, autographed items, programs and ticket, and much more.

The Collector Connection Post War Sports Cards & Memorabilia XXXVII

The Collector Connection brings us their Post War Sports Cards & Memorabilia XXXVII, which ends on February 2, 2025. The auction this month is heavy on the post-war era, as the name implies. It also skews somewhat to baseball, although all sports are represented. As is generally the case with The Collector Connection, these auctions are predominantly for collector grade items, not museum pieces.
