2024 Topps Dynasty Baseball is an undeniably high-end product with some impressive hits. But are these a good candidate to buy-and-hold unopened?
Let’s take a look at recent comp prices for hobby boxes from the last few years to see what they can suggest about the potential for 2024.

Year | Recent Hobby Box Comp Price |
---|---|
2024 | TBA |
2023 | $1,200-$2,000 |
2022 | $1,035 |
2021 | $900-$1,300 |
There weren’t a lot of recent sales to go by, which is why you’ll see some sizable ranges above. That being said, from what we can see, it appears that these at least hold their value well, unopened, with some potential for upside.
On a percentage basis, I’m not sure that these are worth the high up-front cost, but you could do worse than this product to buy-and-hold unopened.
What about in terms of singles? What can a look at recent sales of 2023 Topps Dynasty Baseball suggest to us about the potential high water mark for 2025?
A MLB Logo Patch Autograph 1/1 Bobby Witt Jr sold for $32,000, after having previously sold for $15,000. The same 1/1 MLB Logo Patch Autograph Corbin Carroll sold for $20,900.
A 1/1 Gold MLB Logo Pat Auto of Mike Trout sold for $15,000. A World Baseball Classic 9/10 Shohei Ohtani Patch Auto sold for $13,800 and a Silver Auto version sold for $12,800.
Prices from there go down, but there are a good number of cards that sell for significantly more than the buy-in price of a box. So, while the best cards are rare, there is a chance at an earth-shaking hit here.
On the other side of the spectrum, there are many cards that sell for less, and in many cases significantly less, than the cost of a one-card box. In fact, a number of cards sold for less than $100, or a fraction of the price of a box. Know the odds and your budget and purchase accordingly.
All hobby products have pros and cons that you should consider when deciding whether to purchase or not. What are some of the pros and cons of 2024 Topps Dynasty Baseball?
Pros
Cons
2024 Topps Dynasty Baseball is a high-end product to an almost absurd extreme. One card for $1,000+ is a proposition that offers the chance for a huge hit or massive disappointment.
This probably isn’t the safest way to spend $1,000 or more on the hobby, not by a long shot. But it might be one of the most exciting. If you’re a high-rolling gambler, you can do a lot worse than 2024 Topps Dynasty Baseball.
