2025 Panini Donruss Baseball value

2025 Panini Donruss Baseball is an unlicensed product that is driven by hits of varying types. But are they a good candidate to buy-and-hold unopened?

Let’s see what a look at recent comp prices of hobby boxes from the last few years can suggest to us about the potential for 2025.

YearRecent Hobby Box Comp Price
2025$175-190
2024$170-180
2023$180-200
2022$130-150

The recent comp prices seem to suggest that these maybe don’t have a lot of upside to buy-and-hold unopened, although they do appear to hold their value fairly well, or perhaps slightly below release price.

What about in terms of singles? What can a look at recent comp prices of 2024 Panini Donruss singles tell us about the potential high water mark for 2025?

A Paul Skenes Unleashed Platinum 1/1 insert sold, twice, for $1,500. From there prices go down. Way down. The next highest selling card I came across was a Skenes Green Ice Auto /15 that sold for around $300.

Prices fall from there. So, the high end is neither that high or particularly robust in terms of the singles market.

These prices are far below many, many recent sales of Donruss football, basketball, soccer, and even racing cards that are licensed. The unlicensed baseball cards clearly don’t hold the appeal of the licensed cards from other sports.

2025 Panini Donruss Baseball pros & cons

All hobby products have pros and cons that you should consider when deciding whether to purchase or not. What are some of the pros and cons of 2025 Panini Donruss Baseball?

Pros

  • A hobby box under $200 is considered “low cost” these days, I guess, and for a lower cost box, these offer up a nice mix of hits, plenty of color, and inserts.
  • There are some interesting designs, fun throwback themes, and hits from some big names. If you can get past the unlicensed nature of these cards, a fun break can be had.

Cons

  • A checklist that focuses on the past and future, without a lot of “present” limits the appeal somewhat for sure.
  • As unlicensed cards, these have a serious disadvantage in terms of total value potential in both the short and long term. These feel like more of a “for fun” break if they’re your thing, and less about ROI.

Final thoughts on 2025 Panini Donruss Baseball

2025 Panini Donruss Baseball is an unlicensed product that is light on current players, but offers up some interesting hits, inserts, and color.

While perhaps not a great investment, these have the potential for a fun, if not particular profitable, break.
