Bowman Baseball showcases some of the first cards from the game’s top prospects. Like the “RC” on Topps’ flagship release signifies the coveted rookie card, collectors and investors interested in prospects seek a player’s “1st” Bowman cards.
The goal with this page is to give our readers a central place to find information on recent Bowman Baseball releases. We will briefly summarize each release from 2013 to 2022 here and also give each release a grade and provide a best-to-worst ranking of recent releases in terms of prospects’ investment potential.

Without further adieu, let’s take a look at what the last tens have brought collect from 1st Bowman releases.
The 2022 Bowman Baseball release features a handful of prospects featured in Baseball America’s Top 100 list. These include Jackson Chourio (#2), Elly De La Cruz (#20), Curtis Mead (#23), Colson Montgomery (#35), James Wood (#36), and George Valera (#42).
At the time I wrote this breakdown, Kahlil Watson was Baseball America’s #60 prospect. Watson struggled in 2022 and has fallen down a tier as of mid-October. Additionally, Baseball America did not have Jackson Chourio on their pre-season Top 100 list. After a breakout year, he is now their #2 prospect and someone I’d bump up to tier one.
