Maintaining and preserving your Pokémon Paradox Rift trading cards

Maintaining and preserving your Paradox Rift Pokémon Trading Cards is essential to ensuring their longevity and value. Here are some tips to help you keep your cards in tip-top condition.

Firstly, it’s important to handle your cards with care. Avoid touching the front or back surfaces of the cards directly, as oils from your hands can damage the artwork and potentially decrease their value. Instead, use clean hands or wear gloves when handling your cards.

Secondly, invest in protective card sleeves and storage options. Card sleeves will provide a barrier against scratches, dirt, and moisture. Store your sleeved cards in a sturdy card binder or a collector’s box to prevent bending or folding.

To prevent fading or discoloration, keep your cards away from direct sunlight or excessive heat. UV-protected storage options can help maintain the vibrant colors of your cards.

Regularly check your card collection for any signs of damage or wear. If you notice any bent corners, creases, or scratches, consider replacing those cards to maintain the overall quality of your collection.

Lastly, keep your collection organized. Use dividers or index tabs to categorize your cards by set, rarity, or Type. This will make it easier to find specific cards and prevent them from getting lost or damaged.

By following these maintenance and preservation tips, you can ensure that your Pokémon Trading Cards remain in pristine condition for years to come.

Pokémon Paradox Rift most valuable trading cards

Of all of the cards included in Paradox Rift, these are the top ten most valuable cards you can find in your packs, although prices can fluctuate.

10.) Parasol Lady – Special Illustration ($31.83)

Parasol Lady is a strong card, even if it is a little restricted in its range. Even then, given the right conditions, it can still generate some pretty powerful card draws.

When you opt to play Parasol Lady, you will need to shuffle your hand back into your deck while drawing another eight cards if you went second and it is your first turn. If you play Parasol Lady during any other time in the game, you will draw four.

The scene is of Parasol Lady sheltering from the light rain with her parasol gives us a beautiful card and one that is going to be extremely valuable in the long term to collectors.

9.) Garchomp ex – Special Illustration ($34.52)

Garchomp ex is a Tera Pokémon, and as such goes against historical typing for the Dragon and Ground-Type Pokémon, and instead turning into a Water Type Pokémon with a whopping 320 HP and a feebleness when it comes to Electric attacks.

What’s even more perplexing is that Garchomps’s primary attack, the Hydro Lander, costs just one Fighting Energy, but still manages to inflict a hefty 160 damage while allowing you to swap at least three more Fighting Energies from your discard pile to your Benched Pokémon.

From there you can begin to snipe away at your opponent’s Benched Pokémon with your Sonic Dive attack and fuelling your discard pile to use Hydro Lander once again.

8.) Tulip – Special Illustration ($35.45)

The release of Tulip means that psychic-type decks now come with a brand new Supporter card to play. Using this card lets you return four cards from your discard onto your hand, in any combo of Psychic Type Pokémon or Psychic Energies.

Playable cards are almost better value, and if there is an alternate art version of said card, then it will likely be even higher. The Special Illustration version of Tulip’s image is of the Psychic Type Gym Leader of the Alfornada Gym from Paldea applying makeup to another character.

7.) Professor Sada’s Vitality – Special Illustration ($35.88)

Living up to the theme of Paradox Pokémon, Professor Sada’s Vitality allows players to keep their Ancient Pokémon powered up by bringing back all of the Basic Energies from their discard pile and attaching them to their Pokémon.

Doing this also lets you draw a further three cards, which will keep your hand full and your Pokémon ready to go on the attack. Special Illustration cards are Full Art Secret cards that are tough to find in packs, which serve to increase their value.

The artwork on Professor Sada’s Vitality is awesome and features a Teddiursa and Smoliv hanging around in the background, watching Sada read.

6.) Rika – Special Illustration ($38.49)

It’s always useful when you get to pick and choose which cards you draw, as it is a great way to construct the hand you want. This is why Rika is beneficial because it lets you do exactly that.

When you play this card, you are able to look at the top four cards of your deck, taking two of them for your hand and leaving the rest on the bottom of your deck.

The Special Illustration form of this card features the Ground Type member of the Paldea Elite Four who is going for a casual stroll down a peaceful street, eating an ice cream a care in the world. Rarely do we get to see trainers going about their day-to-day business, but these cards change all that and are the best way to see how they live their lives.

5.) Iron Hands ex – Special Illustration ($42.28)

The first on this list from the Paradox Pokémon is Iron Hands ex, which is likely to be a future version of Hariyama. This Electric Type card only has two attacks, both of which are relatively energy-heavy cost-wise.

The art for this Special Illustration card is quite odd but also very fun and features the rampaging Iron Hands breaking through six old stone walls, with a seventh wall up next.

We can’t be certain why they are doing it, and we’ll probably never know, but it certainly makes for a silly card that collectors are sure to love.

4.) Iron Valiant ex – Special Illustration ($55.95)

Next up to join the most valuable cards from the set is another Paradox Pokémon card, Iron Valiant ex who brings a powerful Psychic attacker into the fray. Also, Iron Valiant ex has a special ability that allows you to add two damage counters to any one of your opponent’s Pokémon.

The Special Illustration art design for Iron Valiant ex displays the Future Pokémon facing off against other Paradox Pokémon, as if challenging the other Pokémon that exist with it in the distant future.

The artwork is really cool, with the setting sun in the background casting its light across all the Pokémon that have gathered in the valley.

3.) Gholdengo ex – Special Illustration ($69.08)

Among all of the Pokémon that have been released over the years, Gholdengo is a particularly special one, receiving the desired number 1,000 slot in the National Pokédex. As Gholdengo ex, this worthy Pokémon card lets you bring in the riches, gifting you all sorts of resources which is as good as it gets in the Pokémon Trading Card Game.

Gholdengo ex’s ability is the Coin Bonus which lets you draw a card once when it’s your turn. If it’s in the Active Spot, you get to draw two instead which will give you a constant stream of cards.

Its only attack, Make It Rain, deals out 50 damage times the number of energies you discard from it, which lets you scale the number of damage subject to your opponent’s Active Pokémon.

2.) Mela  – Special Illustration ($72.84)

The Mela card pulls double duty in your deck, meaning that it can recycle Energy cards while also helping to keep your hand full up. Mela lets you assign a Fire Energy card from your discard pile straight to one of your in play Pokémon, which will refill your hand back up to six cards if you are running low.

The only disappointing thing about this card is that you are only able to play Mela if you had a Pokémon eliminated during your opponent’s last turn. Fire Type decks have maintained a strong hold on the meta recently, so any card that can help to power up your Pokémon will always find a place in it.

1.) Mela  – Roaring Moon ex – Special Illustration ($77.97)

The top scorer is also the first Ancient Pokémon to make the list and it’s Roaring Moon ex which brings the terrifying power of the past to the Pokémon TCG.

Roaring Moon ex’s initial attack can automatically knock out any of your opponent’s active Pokémon, dealing itself 200 damage in retaliation but seeing as it has 230 health it should stick around for another turn or two at least.

The Special Illustration edition of this card comes with the design of a prehistoric Pokémon lording it over the other Ancient Pokémon and asserting its supremacy over the other primeval Pokémon letting out a huge roar.
