The Trove focuses on the “authentic, engaging and digestible” in their sports card collecting content, catering to both the new or novice collector to the more advanced collector or investor. The Trove highlights the stories behind the cards we all love.

Want to learn more about The Trove?

We had such a great time chatting with Frank about the industry last month that we decided to run a giveaway to celebrate the completion of the project and show our thanks to everyone who has supported our blogs and video content for the last couple of years.

In The Trove interview from January, Jesse sat down with Frank to discuss his history in the hobby and how the Trove got started. He also touched upon advice for beginners, player performance and how the dynamic is changing in the industry (with Panini losing licenses and Fanatics taking over). They also touch upon players such as CJ Stroud and Brock Purdy.

His main advice or collectors getting into the hobby: first take a step back and learn from about the hobby. He also suggests taking a look at “buying cards that you don’t see surface often.”

“If you are buying stuff that never surfaces, and it is something that is in demand, a rare card of a Michael Jordan or even modern guys now. Those cards that never surface [from those players] are going to perform great. The problem lies in base cards, a prizm, or a silver prizm with five of them ending on eBay every day — it’s hard for those cards to ever skyrocket.”
