Recent news of Hasbulla’s 2023 Prizm UFC card selling for $25,000 was met with mixed reactions. While UFC fans on social media did not find the news shocking, some collectors wondered why Hasbulla has a UFC card and why it’s worth so much.
This article shall review Hasbulla’s connection with the UFC, why he has a UFC belt, and the value of his trading cards.
Hasbulla Magomedov – Mini Khabib
Hasbulla Magomedov rose to stardom in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic after his TikTok videos went viral on social media platforms.
Many of Hasbulla’s early videos featured him engaging in playful banter with friends and family, dancing, and generally having a good time. His lighthearted and positive approach to life quickly won over fans, and he became the subject of thousands of memes.
His unique appearance and infectious personality have captivated people from all over the world. As Hasbulla’s popularity has grown he began collaborating with other social media stars and celebrities, further boosting his profile, and increasing his reach.
One such collaboration is a major reason for Husbulla’s stardom in the UFC – Khabib Nurmagomedov. Khabib Nurmagomedov is a retired professional mixed martial artist. He’s considered the greatest fighter of all time by UFC fans.
With an undefeated record of 29 wins and 0 losses in his professional MMA career, it’s easy to see why. Habib retired from professional MMA in 2020 and is Hasbulla’s close friend.
Hasbulla is nicknamed “Mini Khabib.” For a while, many believed that he was the son of the UFC champion. However, while the two are unrelated, they are from the same part of Russia and have created many videos together. As well as butting heads in the Octagon.
According to Khabib,
“With Hasbik, let’s make it so that people understand the situation. Hasbik lives in Khushet (in Dagestan). We have Saygid, Islam, Gadzhi… He’s a neighbor for our guys who live in Khushet. They know him from there, before he became a star. We have a good relationship. And when we have some kind of events, fights, we invite him so he doesn’t sit at home. We take him to Moscow. The fans also want to see him, he’s an interesting personality.”
Asides from Khabib, Hasbulla has also associated with other UFC stars and celebrities, which has helped boost his influence in the sport. This includes his association with Islam Makhachev, banter with Connor McGregor, and an appearance at Tyson’s “Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson.”
Hasbulla’s contract with the UFC
While Hasbulla has created content across several industries, he has always had strong links with superstars in combat sports. One of his most viral videos reenacted the iconic Khabib weigh-in, and he’s had several memorable interactions with UFC fighters.
This association with combat sports made Hasbulla a well-known figure in the fighting circle. It also got him an invitation from Dana White for 2021’s UFC 267 in Abu Dhabi.
In September 2022, several outlets reported that Hasbulla had signed a five-year deal with the UFC after meeting with Dana White.
According to UFC insider Igor Lazorin on Instagram.
“Hasbulla signed a five-year contract with UFC! So far in the plan – attending tournaments, media activity. We will not talk about the amounts in detail, but there they are such that many fighters do not get that much. Hasbulla signed a 5-year contract with UFC! No fights yet, but…”
Hasbulla’s prior relationship with the world of combat sports had endeared him to millions of fans. Hence, fans welcomed UFC’s decision to officially sign him with joy.
Since signing with the UFC, Hasbulla has been a constant figure in combat sports. He was a part of Islam Makhachev’s camp for UFC 280 as an official part of the company. While Hasbulla wasn’t allowed to enter the Octagon between the rounds, he was seated “very close to the cage.”
According to Islan Makhachev, before the fight that he went on to win,
“He is gonna sit close to the cage, you know Charles has four corners but I have five.My corner is gonna be my striking coach from Dagestan and my brother Muslim, Khabib, Javier, my coach from Dagestan. Hasbulla gonna sit close to the cage. And he is gonna be on my side.”
Hasbulla was also spotted trotting around with his UFC Title Belt over his shoulder.
Why does Hasbulla have a UFC contract?
We can sum up Dana White’s decision to sign Hasbulla to the UFC in two words – Star Power! Like Lazorin said when UFC announced the deal, Hasbulla would attend tournaments and other media activities. Hasbulla boasts an enormous social media fan base with over 9 million followers on Instagram.
That’s more followers than 95% of UFC fighters. While the UFC is a massive brand, an extra boost doesn’t hurt. A social media sensation like Hasbulla is an effective way to boost followership and generate interest, especially among their social media audience.
In the words of UFC Chief Dana White, a fan of Hasbulla, his post with Hasbulla was the biggest post he ever had.
“So I’m going to tell you something. So the video that he sent saying ‘Dana White, I’m coming to Abu Dhabi and UFC,’ so when I posted that with me on the plane saying ‘I’m coming, it’s the biggest post that I’ve ever posted….6.4 million people watched that video. Is that f***ing crazy?”
White, however, said that there was “more than a zero percent chance” of Hasbulla fighting during the duration of his UFC contract.
“I love the kid. Is there more than a zero percent chance? Yes,”
Indeed White signing Hasbulla has proven to be a marketing masterstroke for the UFC. The Russian has generated plenty of interest from fans worldwide. There’s the UFC X Hasbulla collection on the UFC store. He’s also regularly attended all their events and showed up at White’s Power Slap.
Panini announces Hasbulla’s first officially licensed UFC cards
After signing his UFC contract, Hasbulla’s rise in the world of combat sports reached entirely new heights when Panini made this announcement.
According to the Panini announcement, Hasbulla was set to have his own officially licensed & autographed UFC trading card. The Hasbulla’s card would be created as a homage to the viral sensation and available in extremely limited quantities.
Panini has previously created trading cards for the likes of Christian Ronaldo, Lebron James, and Lionel Messi. Hasbulla’s inclusion in such an exclusive list was a validation of just how far he has come in the world of combat sports.
Fans and UFC enthusiasts received Panini America’s announcement with glee as they eagerly anticipated the release. Hasbulla was showered with love and praise from fans and UFC fighters alike. Even Dana White shared the news on his Instagram story congratulating Hasbulla on the feat.
Hasbulla Tyson Beck trading cards
Hasbulla Panini’s cards aren’t his first trading cards to hit the market. In February 2022, Hasbulla collaborated with Tyson Beck to drop a few “officially licensed” Hasbulla trading cards. They are officially licensed, as Tyson pays for the rights and approval of the athlete on the card.
These cards were available on the official Tyson Beck store and, according to this tweet by Tyson Beck, were sold out on drop day.
However, while these cards might hold some value, they’re largely overlooked as they aren’t official UFC cards. This has affected their value immensely, and you could get a few on eBay for truly fair prices ranging from $80 to $500.
Hasbulla Panini Instant Cards
The first Panini Hasbulla trading cards released were the Hasbulla Panini Instant cards. Panini creates cards and lists on their online store when an event happens. Usually, the cards are available for purchase within 24 hours after the said event.
Typically, there’s a sales window for interested fans to purchase. Panini prints only the quantity ordered during that time as the print run. The only way to get them after sales end is on the secondary market, which can be especially costly. Panini uses Instant cards to tell the story of an event or make the first cards of players in their new uniforms.
Hasbulla Panini Instant cards were released immediately after the UFC 280 event and were available for 24 hours after that. Base 2022 Panini Instant Hasbulla cards sold at $9.99 each through Panini. Discounts were available for lots of five, 10, and 25 copies. /5 was available for $250, and 1/1 sold for $1,000.
Hasbulla 2023 Panini Prizm UFC cards
Panini’s announcement that Hasbulla will have his own 2023 UFC Prizim Panini cards was met with cheer and glee.
Asides from Hasbulla’s growing fame, Prizm is one of Panini’s most popular brands for a reason. High-quality cards, printed on premium materials with stunning designs and details, have made Prizm favored by collectors.
A Hasbulla Prizm autograph card would undoubtedly be a chase card from the set. Asides from the base Hasbulla cards, Panini also teased the first officially licensed UFC Hasbulla autograph cards and a Hasbulla Black 1-of-1 autograph.
Value of Hasbulla trading cards
The 2023 Panini Prizm UFC set was released a few days ago, and there have been several big-money sales of the 2023 Hasbulla Prizm cards already. A $5,000 sale of a Hasbulla Prizm UFC White Mojo /25 and $25,000 for a non-auto Gold Shimmer 2/3.
While this came as a surprise to a few, it’s hardly unexpected. Panini combined two winning formulas to create cards with great value. Besides being one of Panini’s most popular brands, Prizm also holds value exceedingly well. There have been several $20,000 sales of Panini Prizm UFC cards already, with the 2021 Panini Prizm UFC – Champion Signatures – Prizm Black Parallel #’d /1 – Stipe Miocic selling for $20,179.
Hasbulla is one of the most recognizable and beloved figures on social media, with millions of followers across various platforms. His cards are highly sought after by both collectors and fans alike. The buzz on social media following the release of the 2023 Panini Prizm UFC has made it look like Panini released a standalone Hasbulla set.
There are thousands of posts following which Hasbulla cards have been pulled and an announcement for each pull. The $25,000 for the Gold Shimer version almost assures that the UFC would have a record-breaking sale when the 1/1 is pulled.
Bottomline of Hasbulla Prizm UFC cards
Panini’s decision to release Hasbulla trading cards has been an enormous all-around success, given his immense popularity. His cards have created an extra buzz around the 2023 Panini Prizm UFC set and have helped push the overall value of the set.
Collectors and fans have been clamoring to get their hands on the cards, considered one of the most unique in the entire set. This high demand for unique and interesting cards isn’t new to the hobby, and some collectors are calling for more products with “one of these oddball personalities per product.”
The future value of these cards is tricky to predict, as most “social media frenzy” fizzles out eventually. However, the cards are doing amazingly well and would further increase in value if Dana White finds a way to put Hasbulla in the ring. Barring something extraordinary, the value of Hasbulla’s trading cards should increase in value until his UFC contract runs out. What happens after that is anyone’s guess.
