2024 Topps Allen & Ginter may not be your most valuable box this year. It won’t be the shiniest or most colorful. But it just might be in the contention for the most fun rip, with the usual mix of vintage-inspired designs, players from across eras, and the unique oddities that make A&G what it is.
On release day, CardLines breaks had the privilege of opening up a half case of 2024 Allen and Ginter. Check out the design below and how the break dwent:
2024 Topps Allen & Ginter Baseball was initially available on Topps.com on October 1, 2024 at 12:00 PM ET (subject to change) and sold out quickly and was officially released on October 30th.
The ship date for 2024 Topps Allen & Ginter has not yet been announced, although it is likely to be sometime in October 2024.

The base set of 2024 Topps Allen & Ginter consists of 300 cards. As has been the case with all Allen & Ginter releases, the checklist consists of a mix of rookies, current MLB veterans, retired stars, players from other sports, and other notable names from pop culture.
In Ginter tradition, a variety of interesting spins are put on the base set.
Card numbers 301-350 are Short Prints (SP). The entire base set, including the Short Prints gets Mini Parallels, which are sized similarly to the original Allen & Ginter cards from 1887.
Mini Parallels include:
Select cards from the base set get Chrome Variations, which bring the chromium shine to the vintage design. Seeded 1:8 hobby, 1:8 value, and 1:4 fat packs.
There are also Mini Chrome Variations available, bringing the chrome to the smaller form factor. Odds are 1:24 hobby, 1:25 value, and 1:12 fat packs.
Cloth Mini consists of mini parallels of 150 base cards printed on cloth, not cardboard. Seeded a tough 1:1,952 hobby packs.
Metal Mini are made up of mini parallels of 150 base cards, printed on metal. Odds are 1:6,498 hobby.
Stained Glass Mini offers up parallels of 207 base cards with a stained glass look. Odds are 1:967 hobby, 1:6,415 value, and 1:2,681 fat packs.

Each hobby box of 2024 Topps Allen & Ginter contains a jumbo box topper.
Allen & Ginter Boxloaders are made up of 15 cards of some of the biggest names in the sport.
Ballpark Bites Boxloaders are made up of 30 of the biggest snacks and meals available in big league ballparks. We’re talking all the all-time greats from Hot Dogs to Nachos to Bratwurst.
N43 Boxloaders brings 20 boxloaders in the style of the 1889 Allen & Ginter N43 set. The checklist includes a mix of greats of the past and stars of today.
Inserts is one of the areas where Allen & Ginter shines, with a mix of baseball themes and topics from across a wild group of other topics.
50 States Mini features 50 cards, one for each state in the union. Odds are 1:21 hobby, 1:21 value, and 1:21 fat packs.
2023 World Series Champion Mini includes 20 cards celebrating the players from the 2023 World Champion Texas Rangers. Seeded 1:7,897 hobby, 1:53,451 value, and 1:22,403 fat packs.
Ballpark Bites Mini offer up mini versions of the box topper that highlights great ballpark eats. Seeded 1:35 hobby, 1:35 value, and 1:35 fat packs. No word on the calorie count.
Batoids Beneath Mini brings us 10 cards of batoids, also known as rays. These sea creatures aren’t just for Tampa anymore.
Buzzin’ includes 15 cards that feature bees, wasps, and hornets. Missing out on these is sure to sting! Odds are 1:7 hobby, 1:7 value, and 1:3 fat packs.
Cycle Succession offers up 50 cards of big names from the past and present. Odds are 1:145 hobby, 1:144 value, and 1:72 fat packs.
Flags of the World Mini features the flags of 50 countries from around the world. Seeded 1:21 hobby, 1:21 value, and 1:21 fat packs.
Got the Itch Mini bring the joy of scratch-and-sniff to A&G. 20 cards highlighting aromas from coffee grinds to cinnamon buns. Odds are 1:124 hobby, 1:52 value, and 1:52 fat packs.
In Action Variations provide action variations for 50 player, harkening back to the “In Action” Topps cards of the 1970’s. Seeded 1:145 hobby, 1:144 value, and 1:72 fat packs.
Rays in the Wild are seeded 1:103 hobby, 1:103 value, and 1:103 fat packs, with few other details yet available.
Rookie Design Variations Mini features 20 cards with top rookies with alternate images. Seeded 1:8 value and 1:4 fat packs.
Sister, Sister consists of 20 pairs of “sister cities” from around the world. Odds are 1:5 hobby, 1:5 value, and 1:3 fat packs.
Swamp Creatures Mini offers 30 cards featuring animals that live in swamps, from alligators to mosquitos. Seeded 1:35 hobby, 1:35 value, and 1:35 fat packs.
Uniform Countdown Mini offers up 10 cards, numbered from 11 to 20, each featuring a player famous for wearing that uniform number. Odds are 1:23,545 hobby, 1:160,352 value, and 1:62,727 fat packs.
World’s Tallest Mountains contains 15 cards highlighting the 15 tallest mountains in the world. Seeded 1:69 hobby, 1:69 value, and 1:69 fat packs.
X-Ray’d features 20 cards with images of x-rays from different animals, from beaver tails to bears. 1:7 hobby, 1:7 value, and 1:6 fat packs.
Getting excited about relics feels like, well, a relic of the hobby past. That being said, Allen & Ginter relics tend to be some of the nicer looking relic cards out there, in my opinion. There’s also plenty beyond the same old jersey patches here.
Allen & Ginter Relics A consists of 75 cards with a checklist that is a mix of current and former major leaguers, plus a bunch of personalities from pop culture. Seeded 1:28 hobby, 1:93 value, and 1:99 fat packs.
Allen & Ginter Relics B brings us 94 more relic cards, this time with the focus all on baseball. The checklist is a mix of current stars and former fan favorites. Odds are 1:23 hobby, 1:89 value, and 1:83 fat packs.
Lineup Card Relics consists of 80 cards each with a piece of lineup card in each one. Seeded 1:37,741 hobby, and 1:156,816 fat packs.
Mini DNA Relics contain an actual piece of a dinosaur fossil. Collect them all before the morally corrupt scientists do! Odds are 1:58,327 hobby and 1:313,632 fat packs.
Mini Framed Relics brings us 134 relic cards all in frames. The checklist is a mix of current stars and stars of the past, including some big names. 1:134 hobby, 1:1,315 value, and 1:561 fat packs.

Rip Cards return in 2024. These are standard-sized cards that contain exclusive mini cards inside. There are both single- and dual-player Rip Cards available, plus multi-player Boxloader Rip cards. Collect the Rip Card or rip for the treasures inside. That is the Rip Card conundrum.
Rip Cards have a checklist of 135 cards spanning players of today and stars from the past. Seeded 1:136 hobby packs.
Boxloader Rip Cards offer up 30 jumbo-sized Rip Cards as a Boxloader.
Double Rip Cards feature two players per card and feature two cards inside. 65 card checklist contain teammates, same-team retired/active pairs, and other combos. Seeded 1:1,270 hobby packs.
Mini Artist Originals consist of 31 cards that are seeded a tough 1:95,052 hobby packs.
Mini Exclusives are found inside Rip Cards and extend the base set with cards #351 through 400. Parallels include Metal, Stained Glass, and Wood.

While autographs are not really a big part of draw of 2024 Allen & Ginter, but there are some nice ink in the product, it’s just not a guaranteed hit.
Mini Baseball Autographs is the primary autograph offering in the product, offering mini-sized autographs of 160 subjects. Seeded 1:99 hobby, 1:445 value, and 1:373 fat packs.

Mini Non-Baseball Autographs brings us autographs from outside the world of baseball, with a variety of names from pop culture. Checklist is 57 cards. Would this author recognize 10 of the names? I’d take the under on that, but don’t let my lack of hipness keep you from enjoying. Odds are 1:226 hobby, 1:1,464 value, and 1:911 fat packs.
Mini Employee Autographs consists of 10 cards featuring autographs of Topps employees. Odds are 1:34,219 hobby, and 1:156,816 fat packs.

Autographed Lineup Card Relics bring us 90 Lineup Card relics with added ink. Odds are 1:34,219 hobby and 1:156,816 fat packs.
Allen & Ginter Boxloader Autographs offers up 20 Boxloader cards that are signed.
N43 Boxloader Autographs consists of autographed versions of 21 of the N43 Boxloaders.
Full-Size Autographs features just a single card, of the Texas Rangers’ Wyatt Langford. Odds are 1:8,498 hobby, 1:80,176 value, and 1:34,848 fat packs. Red parallels (1:171,093 hobby, 1:313,632 fat packs) are also available.
Autographed Relic Books consists of 99 book-style cards with a relic and an autograph. 1:3,294 hobby, 1:40,088 value, and 1:14,256 fat packs.
Quad Autographs is made up of two cards each with four signatures. The cards feature the members of the band The Bouncing Souls and the band Thrice. Seeded 1:67,537 hobby and 1:313,632 fat packs with Red Ink (1:171,093 hobby, 1:313,632 fat packs) parallel also available.
Dual Autographed Relic Books double the subjects to two per auto relic book. The checklist consists of 45 cards each with two players, two relics, and two autographs. Seeded 1:7,209 hobby, 1:80,176 value, and 1:31,364 fat packs.
Cut Signatures contain cut signatures form 58 subjects, all of which are 1/1’s, although a couple of subjects appear twice in the set. Checklist consists of deceased players and a number of famous non-players, from presidents to actors. Seeded 1:57,031 hobby and 1:313,632 fat packs.
Relic Cut Signatures consists of 28 cards with both a relic and a cut signature. The checklist consists of 27 baseball stars of the past and President John F. Kennedy. All 1/1’s and insanely tough hits.

2024 Allen & Ginter is a fitting next chapter In the Allen & Ginter line, with a mix of old-timey designs, mini cards, and the oddball cards you either love or hate. But are they a good candidate to buy-and-hold unopened? Let’s see what a look at recent comps for hobby boxes from the last few years can suggest to us about 2024.

The prices suggest that Allen & Ginter actually hold their value quite well unopened, with a slight bit of upside from the drop price. In some ways this is a little surprising, although considering this isn’t a rookie or prospect-driven, low volatility probably shouldn’t be.
In terms of singles, what can a look at 2023 Allen & Ginter tell us about the potential for 2024 singles?
The high water mark were, interestingly enough, for two non-baseball players, in this case Victor Wembanyama and C.J. Stroud. The highest recent sale was for a Victor Wembanyama Mini Autograph in an SGC 10/10 slab, for $4,200. A number of other Wembanyama cards sold for between $1,700 and $2,700. A Red Ink Framed Autograph C.J. Stroud /10 sold for around $2,500.
A Michael Rubin framed auto sold for around $1,000, as did a Grayson Rodriguez Wood Mini 1/1. Prices go down quickly from there. So, there’s a chance at some high-end hits, although nothing life changing. For the price of the box, the chance at a solid hit could be worse, for sure.
