Beautifully designed cards, full-art cards, holographic variants, exclusive promo cards, and the reintroduction of Trainers Pokémon cards ensure this set is a visually satisfying treat for collectors. However, how is this set expected to perform in the market?
In previous articles, I have done this by considering how well the last Pokémon set performed on the market. However, Journey Together is coming after a string of really hyped Pokémon sets and would understandably not perform as well as such sets, e.g. Prismatic Evolution.
I shall take a different approach with this set. We’ll look at the top 3 cards from the Japanese Battle Partners set.

Understandably, these prices aren’t anything noteworthy, especially if you aim to make a profit. However, that’s expected from a set such as this.
As stated before, the theme and concept of this set feel made for Pokémon fans looking to collect these fantastic cards and build their decks/collections rather than looking to flip for a profit.
While Journey Together lacks the hype that recent Pokemon releases have had, I’m personally pretty excited about this set.
The return of trainer Pokemon cards is a refreshing addition to TCG, and the lack of hype ensures the set would be relatively easily obtainable for collectors and TCG players. For design, Journey Together has really visually striking cards that collectors are sure to love.
However, when viewed through the lens of investment and competitive play, “Journey Together” falls short. This set lacks any standout cards that would shake up TCG gameplay or drive significant market value. For those looking to make a profit, this set is unlikely to provide the returns they seek.
That said, Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Journey Together celebrates Pokémon’s spirit of camaraderie and adventure. It is a love letter to fans who cherish the relationships depicted in the Pokémon universe.
While it might not be worth a lot or a game-changer, it is a beautiful addition to any Pokémon fan’s collection. Also, we’ve seen cases where sets that had zero hype before their releases end up being worth a lot after collectors fall in love with the cards; who knows if this is one of such sets.
