The release date for 2023 Panini Prizm is scheduled for July 21, 2023 (subject to change).
2023 Panini Prizm hobby boxes contain 12 packs per box. Hobby packs contain 12 cards per pack. Cases contain 12 hobby boxes per case.
Collectors will find 3 autographs per hobby box of 2023 Panini Prizm. Hobby boxes also contain 4 Silver Prizm parallels, 12 inserts, and 8 additional Prizm parallels. Prizm Hot Boxes fall one per case and contain exclusive Purple Ice Parallels.
2023 Panini Prizm Hobby Boxes are pre-selling for $150. Hobby cases are pre-selling for $1,700. Hobby boxes are likely to be the first drop from 2023 Panini Prizm, but look for retail blaster boxes to follow in short order.

The 2023 Panini Prizm base set contains 300 cards. The checklist is made up of recent draftees, minor league prospects, and retired players. What you won’t find is any active major league players, due to Panini no longer having a license from the MLBPA.
The card design features a player photo popping out of a colorful frame. The Prizm logo is centered at the top of the card, with the player name and team city at the bottom.

Parallels are once again a big part of the Panini Prizm product. Silver Prizm cards fall four per hobby box. Additional parallels include Green Scope, Black Gold, Orange Wave and Ruby Wave. 1 per case hot boxes contain exclusive Purple Ice Parallels.
Panini is packing 12 inserts into each box of 2023 Panini Prizm. Insert sets include hobby-exclusive Fireworks, Future Supers, Pot of Gold, Prizmatic and Second to None. Short print inserts include the baseball debut of Manga, as well as Color Blast.

These include Signatures and Franchise Legends, both hobby exclusives. Potential Penmanship is new for 2023 and highlights up-and-coming young players.

The numbers show quite a range of possible outcomes, with each year’s box selling for from slightly less than the release price to a bit more, in a few cases significantly more.
These suggest these aren’t an awful buy-and-hold candidate, although not necessarily the best of bets.
From the perspective of singles, even in PSA 10 slabs, these don’t sell for much, with only a handful of the rarer pulls selling for over $100 recently on eBay. At this price point, as unlicensed cards, these are meant to be opened and enjoyed.
While there’s some value here, these tend towards lower value spread across the box than earth-shaking hits. That’s not a bad thing, but it’s good to be aware if you’re looking to buy in on Panini Prizm.
Panini Prizm doesn’t have any cards of current big leaguers or any team logos. But it’s stocked with a number of parallels, inserts, and autographs.
At this price point, they can be a fun break with some modest value, but probably isn’t a product to invest in.
