The base set for 2024 Topps Big League Baseball consists of 310 cards. Well, sort of. Similar to 2023, the base set consists of a number of tiers, ranging from the plentiful to the downright rare.
This “parallels in the base set” concept provides a fun level of chase for the entry-level product.
The breakdown:
With five different tiers in the base set, there’s a lot to chase in 2024 Topps Big League Baseball. Parallels add another level to the chase, although the number of parallels pales in comparison to many other products.
All levels of the base set have Black Foil (/25) and FoilFractor (1/1). In addition, Common and Uncommon cards have Electric Orange Foil cards as a retail exclusive.
Topps has also randomly inserted 10 redemption cards each good for a complete set of Cracked Ice parallels (cards /10). While they come with long odds, these redemption cards are quite the hit.
As with the base set and parallels, a large number of inserts provide another layer of chase to 2024 Topps Big League Baseball, with options spanning from the fairly plentiful to the considerably rarer.

Autographs are not one of the big drivers of the 2024 Topps Big League Baseball, but they are available in the product. There are no autograph guarantees in the product, and some long odds, but the autos offer one additional nice hit to chase.
Opening Act Autographs feature ink from MLB rookies. The set consists of 54 cards and is seeded 1:62 hobby packs, or roughly one in every 3 hobby boxes. Parallels include Gold (/50), Orange (/25), Red (/5) and 1/1 Superfactors.

2024 Topps Big League Baseball is one of the most affordable hobby boxes you’ll see in 2024. But how do they hold their value unopened? Let’s look at recent comp prices for prior year hobby boxes and see what they can tell us.
Shop for boxes of 2024 Topps Big League Baseball boxes on eBay
Year | Recent Comp Price |
2024 | $50 |
2023 | $40 |
2022 | Not Produced |
2021 | $35-40 |
2020 | $25-50 |
The prices above suggest that Topps Big League Baseball isn’t a good buy-and-hold candidate, with prices remaining fairly flat or even getting lower over time. These are clearly made to break.
In terms of singles, let’s look at recent sales of 2023 Topps Big League Baseball singles in PSA slabs to see what opportunities exist. Not shockingly with a low-cost product, the high water mark on recent sales isn’t super high, even in PSA 10 slabs. But there are several cards that sold for $100, with a very small number even breaking $200.
One interesting thing is which cards are proving the most popular. Of the top 10 highest prices among recent sales, 3 are cards of Hobby Influencers, including 2 of the top 3.
Apparently, Geoff Wilson and Ryan Johnson are popular! Beyond that, the usual suspects make up most of the list, with rarer parallel and autograph cards of the likes of Shohei Ohtani, Mike Trout, and Corbin Carroll rounding out the top 10.
Like any product, there are pros and cons. What are some considerations when considering 2024 Topps Big League Baseball?
