eBay Vault: How Listing On The eBay Vault Saves You Time

Sponsored by eBay

The idea of vaults isn’t new to the hobby, but the new eBay vault improves on existing vaults while offering a service that is directly linked to the biggest sports card marketplace in the world. On top of that, collectors who take advantage of the vault now get in on some nice perks for being first-movers.

In today’s article, we’re going to compare the traditional eBay listing process with listing on the vault and show just how much time you can save.

And if that piques your interest, be sure to read our detailed overview of the eBay vault and our guide for buying cards with the eBay vault, our breakdown of the eBay vault’s Authenticity Guarantee, or even our best practices for the eBay vault.

Reintroducing the eBay vault

If you haven’t read our detailed overview, here’s the 10,000-foot view of what you need to know.

eBay describes the vault as “a secure, climate-controlled, physical storage facility for graded trading cards purchased on eBay.” Cards are backed by eBay’s Authenticity Guarantee before ever entering the vault, and once they’re in place, they can be sold “seamlessly” – we’ll be looking at the selling process in a future article.

From there, any approved card that you purchase for $250 or more can be sent to the vault, where eBay will safely store it.

The vault is easy to use, and all you have to do to get going is enroll to use the vault here. From what we’ve seen thus far, we highly encourage you to do so.

Intro to listing cards on eBay

Anybody who’s ever listed cards on eBay knows it is a process. From taking good pictures/scans of your cards to making sure the details are correct, it can be time-consuming. Thankfully, after your card sales, it’s worth it, but there is certainly an up-front time investment.

In fact, we covered the eBay listing process on one of our most popular series, which we recommend you check out right here.

We looked at everything from how to title your listing, how to price them, the extra details you should fill in, and more. And, to hopefully simplify things some, we summarized the six-part series in this article

But, if anything, the takeaway is this: the process is long enough that we could write a six-part series about it. That’s a lot of steps.

Step by step look at how to list cards on eBay

If you are listing a card on eBay the traditional way, here’s a loose overview of the process:

  • Find your card to sell
  • Come up with a selling price or BIN/auction strategy
  • Take pictures/scans of card
  • Create listing
  • Appropriately title it
  • Fill in all the extra details and information
  • Add a description
  • Add shipping information
  • List your item

And that’s just the high-level work. As you get into it, there’s a lot of nitty-gritty detail work that can take up time.

Again, it’s completely worth it, but there’s certainly upfront investment of time and effort. Now, let’s look at the alternative.

Intro to listing Cards using the eBay vault

The eBay vault streamlines the listing process. As we’ve discussed before, every card passes through the eBay Authenticity Guarantee before making it to the vault. This means eBay’s team of experts certifies the card and guarantees it’s authentic.

That does more than just provide peace of mind for buyers – it’s convenience for the sellers, too. In short, it saves a ton of steps for listing – eBay even takes the pictures for you.

Let’s take a look at the process.

Step by Step look at how to List Cards using the eBay vault

If you are listing a card on eBay with the vault, here’s a loose overview of the process:

  • Go to your eBay vault
  • Click on the card you want to list.
  • Click the “create listing” button
  • Decide what price for the auction/BIN listing
  • Approve details and list

That’s it. It’s infinitely easier. But how much faster is it? Let’s look.

Comparing listing styles: how much faster is listing with the eBay vault?

To see how much time we can save by listing using the eBay vault, we made a video to cover the two strategies head-to-head.

See for yourself right here!

Conclusion: The vault saves you time, too!

Over and over, we’ve talked about how the eBay vault can save you money by cutting selling fees. But that’s not all – it also can save a lot of time, too!

Listing big-ticket cards on eBay has never been easier, so be sure to out the eBay vault today to save time and money.
