2023 Panini National Treasures Baseball release date & release format

The release date for 2023 Panini National Treasures is December 29, 2023.

Hobby Boxes of 2023 Panini National Treasures include just one pack per box. That single pack contains eight cards. There are four hobby boxes per hobby case.

Every one of the cards is a hit. Collectors can expect eight autograph or relic cards per box with at least one booklet card per box.

Pre-sales of 2023 Panini National Treasures have been in the $570-750 range.

Panini National Treasures Baseball 2023 base set

There is no 2023 Panini National Treasures base set, per se. The product is all hits, and details and checklists for all the different offerings are not yet available.

That being said, we do know one thing about what 2023 Panini National Treasures will and won’t have included.

This is Panini, so we know team names and logos won’t be included on these cards. Also, since Panini has lost its MLBPA licensing, you won’t see a lot of current players, here, although they play a bit fast-and-loose with the rules here, in my opinion.

What you will see are up-and-coming prospects, and former players, including all-time greats and fan favorites.

When I say they play fast and loose with the rules here, we see early images of cards of rookies such as Elly De La Cruz and Masataka Yoshida, but also second-year star Bobby Witt Jr.

2023 Panini National Treasures Baseball relics and autographed relics

While we don’t have all the details of the relic sets included in 2023 Panini National Treasures or their checklists, we do know a few of the sets collectors will be chasing.

Hall of Fame Materials highlights members of the Baseball Hall of Fame. Century Materials features legends from the past 100 years. Red White and Blue Holo Silver offer more fabric. Bat Knobs and Bat Nameplates bring the lumber to the party.

Prospects Materials Autographs bring us fabric and ink from top prospects and rookies. Die-Cut Material Signatures bring die-cut lettering to 100 subjects.

Signature Names, Signature Nametags, and Penmanship Materials Signatures offer two more signed relic offerings.

Dual Memorabilia Signatures Booklets and Legendary Materials Booklets offer two booklet offerings. Booklet cards fall one per box on average.

Definitive Ink is the one auto-only offering we know about in the early going, although there are likely to be more ink-only offerings in the product.

Generally speaking, prices appear to hold well for these over time, with some upward movement potential. Fans don’t seem bothered by the lack of logos or current stars here at all.

In terms of singles, we can look at recent sales of 2022 Panini National Treasures singles in PSA 10 slabs to see what they can tell us.

A 2022 National Treasures Jackson Holliday/Termarr Johnson Auto /25 that sold for $691. A 2022 National Treasures Ronald Acuña Jr. Signature Auto /99 sold for $600, and a 2022 Panini National Treasures Julio Rodriguez Holo Gold Auto /25 sold for $525.

Prices drop from there fairly quickly. So, while some of the top hits probably haven’t sold on eBay, these are the high water mark.

On the other end of the spectrum, the lower-end sales are under $100 in a PSA 10 slab. So, there’s no guarantee of return here, although there’s real potential.

2023 Panini National Treasures is a high-end, hits-only product without team logos or current players. That being said, it’s a popular release and appears to have the potential for some ROI.
